South Gloucestershire Council request Royal Mail bronze Postbox in Olympian Jenny Jones honour

Downend in South Gloucestershire is home to Jenny Jones the UK snowboarder, who recently won the bronze medal in the Winter Olympics, the first ever Briton to win a medal on the snow at the Winter Olympics.

South Gloucestershire Council believe that Jones should have a postbox painted bronze in her hometown, therefore have written to the Royal Mail to ask whether this can be done. A postbox painted in the London 2012 Olympic style, however in bronze not in gold, would be the perfect way to mark and celebrate her "fantastic achievement" in Russia.

Postbox Shop are proud to offer designer postboxes and letterboxes with different coloured finishes available, including many similar shades to bronze, with our custom range so you can create your own style and colour for further choice.

Perhaps you know someone who has achieved something worthy of a special postbox?

A civic event will be held in Jones honour when she returns, with George Ferguson mayor of Bristol wanting Park Street turned into a ski slope, as an unusual way to mark the occasion.
